Account Executive

Job Description

  • Prospect for new business from self-generated leads, as well as identified target groups.
  • Survey prospects to determine insurance needs, inspecting current insurance policies and assessing plans for total coverage needs.
  • Develop and deliver formal proposals of insurance including details of coverages, limits, deductibles and other pertinent information.
  • Work with account managers to complete company submissions and selection of potential markets.
  • Conduct client and prospect appointments communicating proposals and renewals, explaining details and communicating desire to conduct business.
  • Participate in outside organizations within the community in order to promote our agency and generate revenue.
  • Keep informed of industry developments through review of trade press and by attending insurance carrier training meetings on new products, etc.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans to generate revenue for the agency.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Must have proven ability to pursue and close sales
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years of insurance industry or corporate Trucking Insurance experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and data accuracy.
  • An attitude or orientation toward excellence and getting things done quickly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
